Jade Fascinio Violeta - swatches and review

This is a holo polish that many of you have seen before but it's such a show stopper that you can see it again and again! So here it is for this Holo Friday :)

The formula is perfect! This is three coats with no top coat.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Holographic.

Number of coats: Three but two is enough. The third coat made no difference.

Formula: Excellent! So easy to apply and no signs of bald spots or holo sickness.

Brush: Excellent! Very easy to use.

Top Coat: No.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate. Of course much more beautiful live!

Grade: 5/5

This holo polish is just amazing! It has a lovely purple base and a magical strong holo effect! The red in the rainbows is so gorgeous to the purple base! It gives the nails a dramatic effect which is stunning!

Comparison of Essie For the Twill of It and H&M Wintersky

Lately I've been reading on several blogs that H&M Wintersky is extremely similar to Essie For the Twill of It. Some bloggers even call them dupes! This is NOT true! They are definitely not dupes and not even that similar either as a matter of fact!

I have the pleasure of owning both polishes and I let my pictures speak for themselves :) This is two coats of each polish.

Essie on pointer and ring. H&M on middle and pinkie.

As you can see Wintersky is much more pale and silvery whereas For the Twill of It is much more dark grey. Yes, the both have a duo chrome effect to lilac and green but they are not dupes! They both have a much deserved place in any collection! :)

Speaking of grey/lilac/green duo chromes released this fall, For the Twill of It is much more similar to OPI Peace & Love & Opi! I don't have the OPI one but here's a bottle comparison.

From what I have seen on other blogs they are VERY similar but not dupes either. Apparently there is a tiny difference in the shade of the lilac and in the amount of visible brush strokes. This is not my own conclusion but only what I've read.

I think the H&M is the best alternative here. I like that it's so pale and that it is the most unique one of these three. It also has by far the best price!

Nfu Oh MOR 10 - swatches and review

For this Green Wednesday I've got a mind blowing blue-green (i.e. turquoise ;)) polish to show you! I got this beauty through a swap with my dear blog friend Christine at Polished Marvels. Without her I wouldn't have this gem in my collection! Thank you so much Christine!!! <3

This polish was released this summer in Nfu Oh's collection Morning of Greece. It's such a pity it's just called MOR 10! How hard can it be to give them names??? I can think of a thousand names for this one on the theme Mediterranean or pool or sea or swim or.... ;)

The formula is very good and for this collection Nfu Oh has added a cherry aroma to each polish. I couldn't stop sniffing my nails the first day! Lol! It even smells through a thick coat of Seche Vite.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Very good. Easy to control but could have been more self leveling. Don't drag the brush on the same spot twice though to avoid bald spots.

Brush: Excellent! To me it's perfect!

Top Coat: Yes, one coat of Seche Vite. It dries a bit matte so if you want it smooth and shiny you need a top coat. 

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate, but it was really hard to capture the right shade. It kept looking pale blue. Aaaarrrggghhhh! ;)

Grade: 5+++++++/5

This polish is the perfect shade of turquoise to me! I like it when they lean towards blue. I love MOR 10 sooooo much!! Christine actually gave me her own copy because it was so hard to get and I'm ever so grateful!! <3

A first review of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter A-Peel

When I wore Darling Diva Little Red Corvette last week I did my first test of Glitter A-Peel which is a peel off base polish.

I applied two coats of Glitter A-Peel and let it get fairly dry before applying my glitter polish. I finished my manicure with two coats of Seche Vite.

Almost 24 hours later I took my orange stick and started peeling. I had a bit of a struggle to get that first grip under the polish with the stick but once I was under the polish I could fairly easy continue peeling.

In my imagination the glitter polish would remove in one large piece as I had seen on other blogs but in my case I had to peel the glitter polish in rather small pieces.

I'm not quite sure of the reason for this and I guess the reasons could be many so I will keep trying Glitter A-Peel with different scenarios. I will keep you posted of course!

Even though the polish was removed in small pieces it was still fairly easy to remove almost everything. However, I had to use more force than I thought though. I was actually a bit sweaty when I had removed everything ;)

There was almost no damage to the nails at all. Only tiny marks at the cuticles were I first inserted the orange stick to be able to start peeling.

So far my conclusion is this:
Glitter A-Peel is a good but not yet perfect alternative to the foil method for removing glitter polishes. I'm not sure what's most unhealthy to your nails, a long soak in remover or marks from an orange stick ;) If I can work out how to use Glitter A-Peel to perfection I'd rather use this than foil packs. Less mess and possibly more environmentally friendly :)

Lime Crime Peaches Cream - swatches and review

This is not an ordinary peach cream - it's a creamy neon peach! It's really bright and it makes my hands look tanned which is always a plus :)

I love Lime Crime's delicate frosted bottles with that beautiful unicorn print on them!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Creamy neon.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Good! Very easy to control. I only wish it was more self leveling.

Brush: Very good! No complaints.

Top Coat: Yes, one coat. Necessary to make it more smooth looking and shiny. Being a neon it dries a bit matte.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate. Perhaps even more brighter peachy live. 

Grade: 4/5

This is a lovely shade of peach and it's so fun that it's a neon! The formula is good and the wearability is amazing! I've worked almost 20 hours this past week-end as a florist and there isn't a mark or any sign of chipping at all! Peach isn't one of my favorite colors though so it's a 4 from me ;)

Circuit Board Nails

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday was a bit tricky in my opinion... ;) The theme is "Circuit Board" and I was a bit puzzled for a while but then I decided to take the easy way out and do - circuit board nails! :D

The base is a great green polish from Catrice called "I'm Not a Greenager".

I used the following polishes: (from left to right)

Catrice I'm Not a Greenager

Barry M Matte White

Isadora Bronzing Gold

Barry M White Nail Art Pen

After applying the green base I did the white dots with a dotting tool. Then I connected the dots with the nail art pen. Finally I did a bronze dot in each white dot to get that metal feeling to it. One coat of Seche Vite to seal the manicure. Done!

How do you like my circuit board nails?
