Catrice Denim Moore - swatches and review

This is a fantastic blue shimmer polish from Catrice who found its way to me via my lovely friend Christine at Polished Marvels. You really get that denim feeling and the name is so witty! I love it!

A one coater with a fantastic formula and a great brush!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Shimmer.

Number of coats: One!

Formula: Very good! So easy to apply!

Brush: Very wide and rounded.

Top Coat: Yes but it didn't work well with Seche Vite so I recommend you to try another top coat for this polish. SV almost gave it bald spots. Very strange! Never happened to me before.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate.

Grade: 5/5

Bats Nails

The theme for today's Halloween Challenge is "Bats" and I've been quite literal and done bats flying in the moonlight.

I managed to squeeze in no less then three different techniques in this nail art - sponging, stamping and freehand :)

The base is the wonderful Catrice Denim Moore, sent to my by the lovely Christine at Polished Marvels. Then I freehanded a little white moon using Barry M's Nail Art Pen. After that I sponged on some mystic clouds using Orly Dazzle and a makeup sponge. Finally I stamped on the black bats using Bundle Monster plate BM-213 and Illamasqua Boosh.

I was so happy with the result that it's actually my notd :) I love that base color and I love the mood created by the soft silver clouds and the brightly shiny moon. Mystic and beautiful :)

Autumn Leaves Nail Art

For this Nail Art Sunday I want to show you an autumn manicure! I did some stamping with a leaf motive in different colors on a yellow base. And with some I mean 72 times :) Every single leaf is stamped on its own. Yes, it took a while but it was worth it in the end :) My customers got totally crazy over this manicure! They didn't want to leave the shop and asked hundreds of questions! Lol! :D

I used the following polishes for the leaves: (from left to right)
Nordic Cap NP07
Eyeko Saucy Red Polish
Catrice I'm Not A Greenager
Model City Dipping Chocolate

The yellow base is Lime Crime Crema de Limón which is a more soft and pale yellow irl. I'll show you it on its own some day soon!
The plate is Bundle Monster plate BM-221.

How do you like this manicure?
Are you looking forward to the autumn?

Catrice I'm not A Greenager - swatches and review

For this Green Wednesday I've got a fantastic Catrice polish for you! I got this polish from my dear friend Goldie who got it in Spain for me. Thank you so much dear! <3

This is a very bright and vibrant grass green polish! I like it a lot!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Perfect! An absolute dream to apply!

Brush: Excellent! Wide and rounded!

Top Coat: No.

Color accuracy in pictures: Quite accurate but it's a bit darker green live.

Grade: 4/5

I love the name of this polish! So funny and witty! :D Excellent formula and color too! Apparently a Catrice polish is either a hit or a miss and nothing in between and this one is definitely a hit! Get it if you see it! You won't regret it!

Circuit Board Nails

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday was a bit tricky in my opinion... ;) The theme is "Circuit Board" and I was a bit puzzled for a while but then I decided to take the easy way out and do - circuit board nails! :D

The base is a great green polish from Catrice called "I'm Not a Greenager".

Circuit Boards ;)
I used the following polishes: (from left to right)
Catrice I'm Not a Greenager
Barry M Matte White
Isadora Bronzing Gold
Barry M White Nail Art Pen

After applying the green base I did the white dots with a dotting tool. Then I connected the dots with the nail art pen. Finally I did a bronze dot in each white dot to get that metal feeling to it. One coat of Seche Vite to seal the manicure. Done!

Catrice Petropolitan - swatches and review

Today it's Green Wednesday and I'm going to show you an amazing greenish polish from Catrice which I got from my sweet dear friend Goldie who bought it for me at Mallorca. Catrice is unfortunately not available in Sweden :(

Petropolitan has a petrol green base which is packed with blue and multicolored glass flecks. The blue ones are most visible and the multicolored ones were very camera shy but they are there and they do follow on the nails! Look at the bottle and you'll get an idea on how it looks live.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream/glass flecks.

Color: A dusky petrol green with blue and multicolored glass flecks.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Easy to apply BUT I got tip wear almost immediately even though I painted the free edges with polish. I forgot to paint the free edges with the top coat though. Perhaps that was what I did wrong? But the tip wear was visible even before I started using the top coat...

Brush: Very good! No complaints.

Top Coat: Yes, one coat.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate. The glass flecks are more visible live though.

Grade: 3/5

This is a very pretty color but because of the almost instant tip wear I gave it a three. If it hadn't been for the tip wear I'd definitely have given it a four! The color and the glass flecks are beautiful! And I love that name! As a big Sex and the City fan I think it's fantastic! For non SATC fans I can inform you that the girls drink a lot of Cosmopolitans ;)

Green Gradient Skittle - swatches

Today I'm killing two flies with one stroke! ;) Or should I say joining two challenges with one post? Today it's Green Wednesday AND I'm doing a Step Into Summer Challenge as well!

This is a skittle manicure were I've done a gradient on each nail too. The gradients are not horizontal, as they mostly are, but vertical. I thought it would be a fun take on it! They go from dark green to pale green and back again. A bit tricky to pull off but fun too!

Sorry for the picture spam but you really need to see this mani from different angels to appreciate it.

I used the following polishes: (from left to right)
China Glaze Holly-Day
Catrice Planet Tokyo
Essence I'm the Moss
Ciaté Mojito
Orly Coachella Dweller

How do you like this gradient skittle?
Have you tried doing gradients vertically?

This mani could be both Skittle and Gradient, but I chose Gradient for this one :)
This is what the other participants are doing!

Catrice Dirty Berry - swatches and review

Today it's cloudy and rainy outside my window. Yesterday late evening I applied this holo polish hoping to take pictures of it in the sun the day after, i.e today. But there was no sun today :( Nevertheless, it's Holo Friday today and I still want to show you the wonderful lilac Catrice holo polish Dirty Berry! :)

I took these pictures in halogen light which is fairly close to sunlight. It's not the strongest holo effect in this polish but it doesn't always have to be super strong rainbows for it to be a beautiful holo. That is the case with this one. I really like that you still can see a lot of the dusty pale lavender lilac base colour.

You can't get Catrice polishes in Sweden so I feel very lucky to have got this one through a swap with the fantastic Christine at Polished Marvels!

Beautiful even in daylight! :D

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT DIRTY BERRY:

Type of polish: Holographic.

Colour: A dusty pale lavender lilac with a slight holo effect.

Opacity: Very good! This is two coats.

Formula: Excellent! A very nice formula which is very easy to apply.

Brush: Excellent! It's very thick (like Isadora's wide brushes) but I love that! :D

Shine: Very shiny on its own but I have one coat of Seche Vite top coat in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Accurate! I'm very pleased with these pictures actually both colorwise and holoeffectwise :) What you see is what you get! ;)

Grade: 5/5 :D

Lilac doesn't normally suit me but I don't think this one looks too bad to my skin tone actually. Maybe because it has holo in it ;) I'm such a sucker for holo polishes! Yesterday I ordered five more holos... I can't wait to try them on :P
I really wish we could get Catrice in Sweden because the ones I have tried have been great!

What do you think of polishes that doesn't
have a super strong holo effect?
