Purple Holo Leaves Manicure

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday is "Longing".

To me this manicure represents fall and after a long hot summer I'm now actually longing for fall with its crisp air and bright colors. I also find it very cozy to light some candles, snuggle under a fleece blanket and have a cup of hot tea :)

The base is By K Lavender Blue and then I've stamped on a leaf pattern with the stunning purple holo Wild At Heart from Color Club. I used a plate from MoYou London called Mother Nature Collection-03. To break up the purple domination I added some green dots with the magic Reclaim from Nubar.

I'm very happy with this manicure and I got a lot of attention because of it too :)

Summary of By K Summer Collection 2014

In case I've got a complete polish collection I usually do a summary of it - and now it's time to sum up the wonderful summer collection from By K! I've listed the nine polishes in the order how I like them. The first one is my favorite and so on.

I've got many questions on where to get hold of these amazing polishes and if you live in Denmark you can order them from By K at: www.by-k.dk/shop

If you live outside Denmark you can get them at: skinstyle.dk/by-k-neglelak-177 They ship all over Europe.

If you live outside Europe you can contact By K directly to see if they can help you. Go to: www.by-k.dk/en-shop

Ok, time for the list! And remember they are all certified cruelty free, vegan and not less than 5-free! Great for you and for the animals :)

Blueberry Nails

The inspiration for this nail art emerged when I was sipping on a bottle of blueberry soup and saw the beautiful little blueberries on the bottle. At that time I happened to have a "clean" nude polish on my nails just waiting to be decorated. So I got my dotting tools out and dotted on a bunch of blueberries! :)

The base polish is the beautiful Pretty Nude from By K and the blueberries are made with KBShimmer Right as Reign and Barry M Matte White.

I love the result! The blurple berries are a great contrast to the pale nude and I like how the placement of the berries came out. A perfect manicure for this Nail Art Sunday! :)

By K Lavender Blue - swatches and review

I'm a big fan of Lavender the flower and it turned out that I'm a big fan of By K's Lavender Blue polish too! I'm not really a lilac person but this beauty is so pale and delicate that in some lightings it looks grayish - and I love grey! I didn't see that one coming at all! So it's with great pleasure that I'm showing you Lavender Blue today! She's also 5free, cruelty free and vegan! :D

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Very good! Very self leveling and easy to apply!

Brush: Thin straight cut brush.

Top Coat: Yes.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate.

Grade: 5+/5

This is a great lilac polish! So romantic and yet cool! I love it! I'm wearing this again soon! I also did a beautiful nail art with this polish as a base. Will show it soon so stay tuned! ;)

Picture Polish Imperial - swatches and review

Purple isn't really my cup of tea, but when this beauty was released I just had to get it! My skin tone doesn't pull off purple at all but Imperial is actually fairly ok. Perhaps it's due to the copper glitter and the neon brightness. A match made in heaven!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Glitter neon.

Number of coats: Three.

Formula: Great formula! Full control!

Brush: Quite wide straight cut brush.

Top Coat: Yes. Dries matte otherwise.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate.

Grade: 5/5

This polish is amazing and unique in my collection! Great formula too!

Throwback Thursday: China Glaze Purple Panic Neon - swatches and review

I'm doing another Throwback Thursday today! This is an old time favorite of mine which I haven't worn for years! Don't know why because it's drop dead gorgeous!!

So put on your sunglasses! This is China Glaze Purple Panic Neon! :) Released in 2005 with the Nervy Neons Collection.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Neon/shimmer.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Ok formula. Easy to control but visible brushstrokes. This could however be due to that this polish is at least four years old and was opened four years ago too.

Brush: Thin straight cut brush.

Top Coat: Yes. Dries matte otherwise.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate.

Grade: 5++/5

I really should wear this polish more often! It's bright, vivid and glowing and makes you smile! Perfect for summer!

More duochromes! This is Pacific, a beautiful blue color shifter! I liked this far more than I thought I would!

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: A nice formula even though there are brushstrokes.

Brush: Thin straight cut brush.

Top Coat: No.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate.

Grade: 4/5

If it hadn't been for the d--n brushstrokes I'd given this a higher grade because it's stunning!

Graphic Ink Nail Art

Today I've got another stampicure for you! I hope you're not getting tired of them? ;) I love the outcome of this one! I'm a great fan of graphic patterns and the effect of playing with dark and pale.

The base is the amazing Ink from By K and the pattern is from MoYou plate Suki Collection-06 and I used Essence Glamour Girls.

Wisteria Nails

It's been a while since I did a dotticure and a loooooong while since I was so pleased about one ;)

I've named this manicure Wisteria Nails but due to the color I guess you could also call it Grape Nails ;) However, since I'm a florist and not a wine maker (lol!) I prefer to call them Wisteria Nails. Wisteria is a such a beautiful plant (Blåregn in Swedish).

The base for this manicure is Bourjois Perle Illusion. The Wisteria is made with dotting tools and Color Club Wild At Heart and Kiko #428 River Green.

And oh! It's Nail Art Sunday today ;)

Time for another By K polish! This time it's the amazing blue-purple-grey polish "Ink". This stunning grey shifts in color depending on lighting. Sometimes it's dark grey, sometimes blue grey and sometimes it looks purple grey. I love grey and I adore this one!

I adore it even more because it's a one coater, cruelty free, vegan and 5-free!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Number of coats: One!

Formula: Great formula! Very self leveling and so easy to apply!

Brush: Thin and straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate but my pics don't do it justice! It's so beautiful live!

Grade: 5++++++/5

If you like grey this polish is a must in your stash! Fantastic color and fantastic qualities!

Peacock Feathers x 2 Nails

This manicure got quite a lot of attention when I showed it at my instagram account last Sunday. I was challenged to show #mydrinkandmynails by my dear friend Christine and this manicure happened to be my notd that day (and actually still is!). So here are some better pictures of it for you and for our Green Wednesday! :)

The base is a new H&M polish called Life Aquatic. The golden peacock feathers are from a MoYou plate (Pro-05) and the polish used is Essence Gold Digger. To get that extra detail I put a dot of the purple duo chrome polish "Peacock Feathers" from Nubar into each feather. Do you get the name of this manicure now? Peacock Feathers x 2 ;)

I've done peacock inspired manicures several times before. I just love the peacock colors! You can see them here and here.

Faded Dotted Gradient Nail Art

After wearing Ciaté's new polish Sweet Pea (swatches and review here) for a while I wanted to spice it up with some nail art and I ended up with a faded dotted gradient inspired by the lovely and talented Ina at My Nail Polish Online.

The base is of course Ciaté Sweet Pea and the other color is another Ciaté polish called Sugar Plum Fairy. First I did the grandient and then the dots. A top coat to seal the manicure. Done!

Not my best nail art but fun to try :) Anyhow, it's green enough for Green Wednesday! ;)

Isadora Chameleon Crush - swatches and review

I don't know why but I've waited like forever to try this polish. But now I have and oh boy what a stunning textured beauty! It's really hard to capture it's beauty and my pictures don't do it justice. If you look at the out of focus nails you can get a hint of its beauty though ;)

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Textured.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Very easy to control but it dried a bit slow (this could be partly due to my old glue-y base coat).

Brush: Very wide and slightly rounded.

Top Coat: No.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate. Much more glittery live.

Grade: 4/5

I love the idea of loads of gold glitter in a purple base but this polish looks just plain dark gold in most lightings. Pretty yes, but I'd love to see at bit more of the purple, hence the grade ;)

Smitten Polish Haul!

I love the film "Love Actually" so when Smitten Polish released a Love Actually Collection I just had to get it ;) Not only for the theme but for the glorious colors too! It's holo, shimmer and duo chrome - all in the same collection! :D

I've seen the film so many times by now that I know exactly when they say the lines the polishes are named after… Impressive or creepy…? ;)

80's Gold Leopard Nails

I did this manicure just before going to the premiere of the musical "Flashdance" a few weeks ago. I wanted an 80's manicure with a print, neons and metallic and this is how I combined them :) The idea is based on manicure done by the talented Natalia at Polished Polyglot. Check her blog out!

Since there's no special theme today at Nail Art Sunday, I though I'd show you it today :) I hope you like it!

The base is Essence Gold Digger and then I stamped on a leopard patten with Konad plate m57 and Illamasqua Scorn. Then I did dots with different neons, China Glaze Flying Dragon (purple), Nails Inc Baker Street (blue), Kiss Nail Art Paint Beach Green (green), Orly Beach Cruiser (pink) and Orly Glowstick (yellow).

PS. If you get the chance to see "Flashdance" the musical - do it! It's brilliant!!
