Holo Mermaid Nails

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday is "Striped" and I've done a striped stampicure that I call mermaid nails.

The base is a fantastic light blue gel polish from Pupa with the exotic name #055 ;) Then I used MoYou plate Suki Collection-06 and By K "Ocean Depths" to create the pattern. I wanted to create the illusion of scales. To enhance this I finished off with a holo top coat from INM Northern Lights.

I was very happy with the result and I wore it for several days!

Italian Nail Mail!

Yesterday I got an amazing nail mail from my dear friend Tanja at Raggio di Luna Nails! She lives in Italy and she sent me six gorgeous beauties from Kiko, Pupa, Deborah Milano and Maybelline. From the bottom of my heart: Tanja - mille grazie cara!! <3

Tanja and I share a deep and long lasting love for blue polishes which you can see reflects well in this fantastic nail mail ;) I can't wait to try these and I bet the ones from Kiko are good for stamping! :D Just look at the duo chrome one!! It makes me drool ;)

Which one would you like me to try first? :)

Pupa #M234 Blue - swatches and review

Today it's Blue Monday and I'm showing you another Pupa polish! :D Pupa is an Italian brand and so far I'm positively surprised at the high quality of these polishes :D

This is an amazing dark blue polish with an absolutely gorgeous glow!! It's a blackened blue, but it never looks just black. I first thought it looked like another favourite of mine, H&M's Spending Cash with Carl, but it didn't. This one is a lot darker!

My only concern about this polish is that it has the same "name" or number as the the blue holo Pupa polish I showed you some time ago?! Ok, they came in a duo pack, but really... the same number?!?! It must be some kind of mistake... I'm keeping them apart by calling this one Blue and the other one Blue Holo ;)
So this is Pupa Blue! Enjoy! ;)

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT PUPA #M234 BLUE:

Type of polish: Shimmer.

Colour: A blackened blue packed with medium blue shimmer.

Opacity: Excellent! This is ONE coat! :D

Drying time: Normal.

Formula: Excellent! Great formula! No complaints!

Brush: Very good! Good width and length. I only wish it was a tiny bit firmer.

Shine: Very shiny on its own. No top coat in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Accurate, but you can see the inner glow even better IRL! This polish really is amazing IRL!!

Grade: 5/5 :D

This polish has a gorgeous colour and a stunning inner glow! The formula is perfect too (it's a one coater!!). I really like it!!
The perfectionist in me doesn't like this same-number-business ;) but with a colour and a formula like this - I can live with it! ;)

How do you feel about this polish?
Do you own any polishes from the same brand
which have the same numbers??

Pupa M234 Blue Holo - swatches and review

For this Holo Friday I've got an Italian blue holo polish to show you! :D
My boyfriend got me some Pupa polishes last time he was in Italy skiing and this is one of them.
This is a sheer blue polish with a lot of holographic glitter in it.
Due to it beeing sheer, I've layered it over another blue polish.

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT PUPA M234:

Type of polish: Holographic glitter.

Colour: A dark blue packed with holographic glitter.

Opacity: Hmm... This is two coats over an already opaque blue polish. To make it opaque on its own would probably take 4-5 coats... So the opacity is not that good I'm afraid.

Drying time: Normal.

Formula: Good! Perhaps a bit thick, but still very easy to apply.

Brush: Good! Not thin nor thick. Easy to work with.

Shine: Shiny on its own. No top coat in these pictures. I added a top coat on one nail after taking these pictures and it looked even better. So try it with a top coat!

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Accurate. But more glittery and sparkly IRL! :D

Grade: 4+/5 :)

Even though this polish is sheer I still like it! And a lot of times we layer holo polishes over other polishes because they are sheer or because we want to save on those precious drops ;) So I don't see it beeing sheer as a problem actually. Of course it's always easier if you can just use one polish and get it opaque ;)

I love the deep blue colour of this polish and that it has so much holo glitter in it! :D The only thing that I just don't understand is how you can name a beautiful polish like this M234?!?! Imagine it beeing called "Blue Galaxy" or something :) Better, isn't it? ;)

Do you like this polish ladies?
Have you tried any Pupa polishes?
