New arrivals!

I'm really, really busy at the moment so today I just want to show you the content of a parcel I got yesterday!

Dance Legend The Knight, Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat
Arcane Lacquer Residuum, Dance Legend It's Hot Here

Soooooo glad to finally got hold of Dance Legend The Knight! It sure looks stunning in the bottle :)

Dance Legend It's Hot Here has been a completely must since I saw it on my dear friend Christine's blog Polished Marvels. Will wear sunglasses while swatching that 8)

Will finally try the hyped top coat HK Girl from Glisten & Glow. Will be interesting.

The Arcane Lacquer was a pure impulse buy. It just begged me to take it home with me and who am I to refuse such a calling? ;)

I tried one of these polishes immediately! Guess which one…? ;)

Flower Nail Art

Spring is here and I always feel the need for brights and flowers at this time of the year :)

So here's a manicure with both flowers and a brights! The base is a fairly new polish from H&M called Stop Sign. That name puzzled me a bit because in Sweden stop signs are red but now I've learned that in some countries the stop signs are orange :)

I used a black Misa polish called I Will Survive and MoYou plate Suki Collection-06 to stamp on the flowers. The pattern is actually with black in the middle of the flowers but I dotted on a bright purple dot in each flower to get a contrast of orange and purple. It was hard to cover the black but I think you can get the idea ;)

Many of my customers thought I had done lady bug nails and looking at a distance I can understand them :)

How do you like my flower manicure?

Essie Come Here! - swatches and review

This is such a bright coral red! It really looks like a neon but it dries shiny.
Perfect for summer nails! This is two coats without a top coat.

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT COME HERE!:

Type of polish: Cream.

Colour: A very bright coral red.

Collection: Essie Resort Collection Summer 2013.

Opacity: Very good! This is two coats.

Formula: Very good! Self leveling.

Brush: Good! A bit firm, but ok to apply with. It would have been worse if the polish hadn't been so self leveling. So the brush got saved by the formula ;)

Shine: Very shiny on its own so I have no top coat in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Quite accurate! Perhaps a tiny bit more coral looking. Really juicy irl!

Grade: 4+/5 :)

Red isn't my best color but this one is so juicy and bright that I had to like it! I love that it's on the edge of being a neon but still so super shiny! Unique!

How do you like Come Here!?
Do you know of any other almost neons that dries this shiny?

Rimmel Kate Moss Collection Hip Hop - swatches and review

Today I want to show you a polish my boyfriend brought me home from London a few weeks ago. The color was so bright and juicy that I had to try it almost immediately!

This polish is from Rimmel's fairly new Kate Moss Collection. Kate has been very involved in developing this collection. She has chosen the colors and named them and she has also been involved in the work with the formula. Rumor has it her daughter was very involved too. Kate is apparently very interested in music so all the colors are named by music genres. There's Punk Rock, Brit Pop and so on - but this is Hip Hop!

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT HIP HOP:

Type of polish: Crelly.

Colour: A bright coral orange red.

Collection: Rimmel Nails by Kate Moss Collection Spring 2013.

Opacity: Good. This is three coats. Ok for a crelly.

Formula: Very good! A nice formula which is easy to apply.

Brush: Excellent! A very nice, wide and firm brush which is slightly curved at the top.

Shine: Very shiny on its own, but I have one coat of Seche Vite top coat in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Quite accurate. Perhaps a bit less red and more orange coral irl.

Grade: 5/5 :D

This is a really gorgeous polish! It's so bright and juicy! Perfect for summer! Both on fingers and toes. Because it's a crelly you need three coats but it's so worth it! I think Kate did a great job with this one! ;) The bottle is really cute too with its large crown on the top.

How do you like Hip Hop?

Face #133 - swatches and review

Today I want to show you a really pretty summer-ish polish from Face! It has the not so pretty name #133 ;) but it's a really gorgeous color!! So bright and juicy!

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT FACE #133:

Type of polish: Cream.

Colour: A raspberry red leaning to coral.

Opacity: Excellent! This is ONE coat! :D

Formula: Excellent! A very nice formula which is very easy to apply, like melted butter! :)

Brush: Very good! Perhaps a tiny bit soft but still easy to work with.

Shine: Very shiny on its own, but I have one coat of Seche Vite top coat in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Fairly accurate. It was really hard to capture the right shade! These pictures show it a bit to red. The second picture from the top is the most accurate one. I also noticed it appears different on different screens - I hope it shows it's right shade on your screens! :)

Grade: 5/5 :D

I adore the color of this polish! It's so bright and happy! It makes me smile :) AND it's a one coater with a great formula! :D I will use this polish on both toes and fingers this summer!

What are your thoughts on this polish?
Have you tried any Face polishes?

Orly Elation Generation - swatches and review

The weeks are passing by so quickly that I almost can't keep up... :/ It's already Friday again and that means Holo Friday!! :D
Today I want to show you a fairly new holo glitter polish from Orly. Meet "Elation Generation" from Orly's spring collection "Hope & Freedom Fest" :)
With this post I've now shown you the whole collection! :D A collection summary will be posted soon! ;)

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT ELATION GENERATION:

Type of polish: Holographic glitter in a crelly-ish formula.

Colour: A pink, leaning towards coral, packed with holographic glitter.

Collection: Orly Hope & Freedom Fest Collection Spring 2013.

Opacity: Good! This is three coats. Not too bad for a crelly.

Formula: Excellent! A perfect formula which is super easy to apply!

Brush: Excellent! No complaints at all! And the grip cap is amazing as always!

Shine: Very shiny on its own so I have no top coat in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Quite accurate! Perhaps a bit less red looking IRL and more pink leaning towards coral looking instead. It's really sparkling and glittering in the sun!

Grade: 3+/5 :)

I liked this polish much more than I first thought when I saw it in the bottle, but it's really not my type of colour and it doesnt really suit my skintone, hence the 3+ out of 5 :) But if you have darker skin or a nice tan it would look great! The formula is great and it dries really quickly for a glitter polish AND it's a big-3-free polish!

How do you like Elation Generation?

OPI DS Reflection - swatches and review

It's time for an OPI DS polish! :D DS stands for Designer Series and it's OPI's more exclusive and expensive line of polishes. This is OPI DS Reflection, which is a red/coral/pink polish with both gold shimmer and scattered holo.
This is also my contribution to today's Holo Friday :)

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT REFLECTION:

Type of polish: Holographic/shimmer.

Colour: A red/coral/pink packed with gold shimmer and micro holo glitter.

Opacity: Excellent! This is two coats but you can easily get away with one coat if you are thorough!

Drying time: Normal, maybe a bit faster than normal actually.

Formula: Excellent! The most perfect formula!

Brush: Excellent! Thick and firm and just wonderful! I could marry this brush! ;)

Shine: Shiny on its own, but I have one coat of Seche Vite in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Fairly accurate. Perhaps a tiny bit darker IRL and more sparkly and glittery too! ;)

Grade: 2/5 :/

Perhaps you are noe wondering why on earth I've only given this polish a 2 when in fact I've written the word excellent three times in my review...? ;) Believe me! The formula is divine! The gold shimmer and holo glitter is heavenly! But I just don't like the base colour... It's an unusual mix of red, coral and pink which I'm sure many of you adore, but I don't :) I don't think it matches my skintone either.
So if any of you would like to to a swop, send me an e-mail ;)

How do you like this OPI DS polish?

Barry M Coral

This is a nice coral polish from Barry M with an excellent price tag! :) £2.99 is a bargain price for a 10 ml bottle!! :D
Barry M ships internationally and you can order it from barrym.com

In daylight

Full hand in daylight
GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Colour: A bright coral on the verge to orange. A type of coral I think suits most skin types.

Opacity: A bit sheer. I needed three coats for full opacity. Not normal for Barry M polishes which normally are one or two coaters... :/

Drying time: Normal.

Formula: Ok. You have to watch the number of strokes when you apply it in order to avoid a streaky look.

Brush: Very good! A bit thicker than normal. Just the way I like it! ;)

Shine: Very shiny on it's own but I have one coat of Seche Vite in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: It's a bit brighter IRL but the shade is a bit darker, if you understand what I mean ;) Full hand picture shows the most accurate colour.

Grade: 3/5 :)

This is a nice bright coral polish with an ok formula, but not as great formula as I'm used to with Barry M.

(I appologize for the terrible fish bone nail art I tried to do on my ring finger - just ignore it ;))

Barry M mania!! Quick swatches and review! :)

I got a bunch of gorgeous Barry M polishes, personally delivered directly from Scotland, from a friend who was there on holiday.

And just look at them!!! Beautiful bright colours with excellent qualities! :D

10 ml (0.35 fl.oz) bottles for only £2.99!!! (Croc £3.99)

Swatches in daylight

Swatches in sunlight

Swatches in artificial light

The croc effect polish is soo cool!! Much better than crackle polish!!

Dusky Mauve really changes depending on the light!!

The Barry M polishes swatched are: (from left to right)

Croc Nail Effect, black - You'll have to wait longer for the croc effect to appear then with crackle, but it's sooo worth waiting for! ;) I swatched it over Orly's Dazzle.

Shocking pink - a bright, almost neon, medium pink cream polish.

Dusky Mauve - a sort of plum/brown/dark taupe colour with an amazing amount of purple shimmer. Almost a duo chrome. Considered to be an almost perfect dupe to Chanel Paradoxal :)

Spring green - a bright mid green cream polish.

Mint green - as the name says :) a mint green cream polish. Some say it's a dupe to Chanel Jade, but if you ask me it's not a perfect dupe.

Coral - a bright coral (leaning towards orange) cream polish. The best picture to see the real colour is the daylight picture.

All swatches are two coats (except the croc effect) and that is enough for full opacity. :D
The formula is great on all creams! They apply totally effortless!
You can order these lovlies at http://www.barrym.com/ an yes, Barry M shipps internationally! ;)

I'm really looking forward to use them for full manicures!

Thank you so much Mr L for bringing me these jewels! <3
