Dollish Polish Redrum - swatches and review

Today it's both Holothon 2.0 and Holo Friday and I've got quite a gem for you actually! I haven't seen this polish on any blogs and that really surprises me because it's really beautiful! Dark copper red with a strong holo effect. I don't see many Dollish polishes at all actually nowadays… Strange.

Redrum was released in 2013 with the Halloween Frights Collection. If you find the name strange - read it backwards… yes, it says murder ;) The expression redrum comes from the film The Shining and even though it's not a very pleasant name it's still a very appropriate name for a Halloween polish ;)

This is two coats and the formula is excellent.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Holographic.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Excellent formula! You're in full control and there are no bold spots if you avoid double dragging on your brush strokes.

Brush: Medium straight cut brush.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 5/5

This is a great holo with quite an unusual base color. Unique in my collection. Even holographic, ok weak but still, in the shade, see last picture.

How do you like Redrum?

This is what the other Holothon ladies are showing today:

Dollish Polish Coitus - swatches and review

I have been so busy preparing for the Vintage Challenge next week so unfortunately I don't have a holo polish for you today. Instead I give you glitter! :D I got inspired by Christine at Polished Marvels who is having a glitter week at her blog.

This is Coitus which is part of The Big Bang Theory Collection, hence the name ;) I love TBBT and especially Sheldon! <3

Coitus is a lovely blend of glitters in a clear base. In these pictures I'm wearing two generous coats of Coitus over Orly Choreographed Chaos.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Glitter.

Color: Small hex glitters in turquoise, pink and silver and larger gold glitters and also gold shimmer in a clear base.

Number of coats: Two (generous) coats.

Formula: Very nice! No glitter fishing at all needed but don't drag the brush twice over the same spot because then you will have bald spots. Be firm and fast! ;)

Brush: Good! No complaints at all.

Top Coat: No.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate. It's really glittery live!

Grade: 3+/5

I'm not a big fan of clear based glitter polishes but this blend is so glittery in a lovely subtle way! It's shiny but it's not crazy ;) I like it but I'm more into glitter polishes with colored bases that can be opaque on their own with only a few coats. To make this beauty opaque you'd probably need four to five coats which it too much for me ;)

How do you like Coitus?
Do you prefer colored or clear based glitters?

"For this mani I used OPI Pink Friday as a base. Pink Friday is a beautiful girly pink with an excellent formula. I'm so happy to have won this in your giveaway because I think it's the perfect shade of pink and unlike many other pinks in this family it covers well with 2 coats! And because I'm a glitter lover I added one coat of Dollish Polish A Preachy Princess which complements Pink Friday in a perfect way!"

Thank you so much Ruth for joining!!
