Indie nail polishes ordered!! :D

I'm soooooo excited!! Today my friend and I placed an order of say somewhat unusual nail polishes, so called indie nail polishes. Here is what we ordered:

Comparison OPI Mad as a Hatter and Barry M Silver Cascade. Dupe?

This is the promised comparison of OPI's Mad as a Hatter and Barry M's Silver Cascade. Let's start with some pictures! :)

The bottles

Silver Cascade to the left. Mad as a Hatter to the right.

Silver Cascade to the left. Mad as a Hatter to the right. Here you can see the diffent bases.

They are quite similar, but Silver Cascade is a tiny bit more pink.
This is due to that Silver Cascade has a lightly pink base whereas Mad as a Hatter has a clear base.
So no, they are not dupes, but very very close to being dupes. ;)

But I guess Silver Cascade is a good cheaper option to Mad as a Hatter.
Both of these polishes can be tricky to find but not impossible. 8-)
Barry M has a polish out now called Silver Multi Glitter, but the glitter is much more fine in that one. You can see Silver Multi Glitter here.

I prefer Mad as a Hatter because I don't like the hint of pink tone that is in Silver Cascade AND I love loove looove the name "Mad as a Hatter" :D

OPI Mad as a Hatter

This is a true Summer nail polish to me! :D
I love it! It glitters like crazy! Especially in the sun!
I know it's "old" but it's also discontinued and rare so I want to show it to you.
Maybe some one will get inspired and take it out from their nail polish storage ;)
What do you think...? Is it a golden oldie? :)

GOOD TO KNOW:

Collection: Alice in Wonderland Spring 2011

Type of polish: Glitter, glitter, glitter! :D

Colour: Multicoloured glitter in a clear base. I see red, pink, green, gold and silver glitter in it!

Possible dupe: Silver Cascade from Barry M is a close match but not quite. I will do a comparison of the two so stay tuned! :)

Opacity: Hm... well... could have been better... This is four coats.

Drying time: Fast in the beginning, then slower as you add more coats.

Formula: Quite good actually. Not too thin and not too thick. But it smells really strong of acetone when wet! :/

Brush: Really good! Fairly thick and I like that! :)

Durability: Very good for a glitter polish but I guess this was enhanced by the fact that I had two coats of Seche Vite to smooth out the surfaces of the nails.

Shine: Very shiny! And glittery!

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Same.

Grade: 5/5 (what else?!) ;)

Butter London Autumn Winter Collection 2012

I really must try some (or preferably ALL ;-)) of the new polishes from 

the Autumn Winter Collection 2012 from Butter London!

Apparently they are inspired by rich textures like 

sequins, tweed, satin and velvet.

Butter London says: "This season is about using texture 

to add interest and depth to your look."

 

Lovely Jubbly: A magenta filled with red, blue and gold micro particles

Trustafarian: A sage green with a golden holographic finish

Gobsmacked: A deep charcoal with grey glitter

Shag: A shiny metallic in a warm orange-burgundy

Dodgy Barnett: A holographic shade that is between grey and silver
 

By the sound of it, I'd love to try them all! 

All Butter London I've tried so far have had really good formulas 

and the are all 3-free which is great!

Retail price is about $14.
