H&M Blue My Mind

This amazing beautiful skyblue polish could actually be my favourite polish of my whole collection!! The pictures below are great but they still don't do it justice in my opinion ;) The formula is great AND it's cheap too! :D
Enough talking! Let's look at my darling! ;)

In daylight

In sunlight

One more in sunlight ;)

In artificial light

Full hand in daylight

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Colour: Bright sky blue. Like a summer sky ;) To me this is the PERFECT blue shade!

Opacity: Super excellent! This is ONE coat. Quite a thick coat, but still - ONE coat :D

Drying time: Average. Maybe a bit better.

Formula: Very good! It applies like a dream! It sort of smooths it self out on the nails if you just give it time :) Love it! Love it! Love it! <3

Brush: Good. No complaints at all.

Durability: Good. No chipping for days!

Shine: It's very shiny even without a top coat but in these pictures I have one coat of Seche Vite though.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: It's a tiny bit darker IRL than in these pictures. If your screen shows turquoise it shows wrong. There's no turquoise in Blue My Mind what so ever! It't blue. Bright sky blue :)

Grade: 5+++++++++++++++++++/5 ;)

Have you tried this polish? Do you like it as much as I? :)

OPI Gone Gonzo from The Muppets Collection 2011

This is a gorgeous polish from OPI's The Muppets Collection! Here I've layered it over a silver polish in order save on the precious drops ;)
I loved the Muppets Show as a child! I had a big Kermit in my bed, but today it's all about Gonzo! :D Let's have a look shall we?

Gonzo playing the trumpet

I layered Gone Gonzo over Isadora's Silver Sparkles

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Glitter.

Colour: Small blue glitter with larger silver hexagon shaped glitter in a clear base.

Opacity: Quite sheer. This is two coats. The reason it looks good is that I've layered it over a silver polish.

Drying time: Average.

Formula: Quite good for a glitter polish. It's not that thick that glitter polishes can be.

Brush: Good. No complaints.

Durability: Very good. No chipping for days.

Shine: It's shiny even without a top coat but because of all the glitter is has a rather rough surface so I recommend a top coat. I've got one coat of Seche Vite in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Accurate! But as you can see it shifts in different lights. Sometimes it looks mostly blue, sometimes mostly silver and sometimes almost turquoise.

Grade: 5/5! :D

I really should wear this polish more often! It's soooo beautiful! <3

Comparison neon pink nail polishes - any dupes?

Today I'll show you a comparison of four lovely neon pink polishes! (At least three of them are lovely ;))
From the left: Pink Parka, Beach Cruiser, Depend #34 and Crush in sunlight

From the left: Pink Parka, Beach Cruiser, Depend #34 and Crush in daylight

From the left: Pink Parka, Beach Cruiser, Depend #34 and Crush

As you can see in the pictures I used the following polishes:

Essie - Pink Parka
Orly - Beach Cruiser
Depend - #34
Nox Twilight - Crush

Before I did this comparison I thought I had four neon pink dupes in my collection, but oh dear how wrong I was!! These are NOT dupes! Not one of them! They are all different shades of neon pink! :D

All except Essie are three coats. Essie has four coats and could have benefitted from a fith one actually.

Orly's Beach Cruiser is the most neon pink polish to me - pure neon pink!
I love it! <3

Nox Twilight's Crush has the best formula by far! And the best brush. It glides on effortlessly! The colour changes a bit though after application. It becomes a bit darker and warmer pink than in the bottle. A minus in my book...

Depend's #34 is just... average... I don't know what to say about it really... It's an ok polish.

Essie's Pink Parka has one of the worst formulas I have ever seen! Thin and impossible to work with! And the brush is just terrible! Thin and to long! UGH! :/

And FINALLY - here are the results from the Little Miss Nailpolish jury: ;)

Orly - Beach Cruiser  5/5
Nox Twilight - Crush  4/5
Depend - #34              3/5
Essie - Pink Parka      1/5

Dogtooth nail art nails

I just HAD TO beautify my boring white nails so I decided they were
perfect for a dogtooth manicure! :D

I used Barry M Matt White and a black polish from Depend.

I stamped on the dogtooth pattern with plate BM19 from Bundle Monster.
Then I finished of with one coat of Seche Vite.

My inspiration! ;)

I'm quite pleased with the result actually. I rate it 4/5! :)

What do you think? Hot or not? ;)

Barry M Matt White

This is a wonderful opaque white polish from fabulous Barry M!
It also makes my nails look longer and my skin less pale and that's great in my book! ;)
In daylight with a top coat

In daylight without a top coat

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Colour: White. Pure white. Like snow ;)

Opacity: Excellent! This is two coats. Quite thick coats, but still - two coats ;) And that's good for a white polish!

Drying time: Rather slow probably because of the thick coats.

Formula: Quite thick which makes it a bit streaky if you apply it with too many strokes.

Brush: Good. No complaints.

Durability: Good.

Shine: I don't know why it's called Matt because it's not matte. It's quite shiny even without a top coat.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: What you see is what you get ;) That's why there's not so many pictures today. White is white so to speak :)

Grade: 3+/5

It's a nice polish and I love that it's so opaque for a white polish but then again... ...it's just a white polish... A bit boring ;)

A big plus though for the nice price of £2.99 for a 10 ml bottle! :D

OPI Mariah Carey Collection

More OPI collections to look forward to!!! :D

Mariah Carey is the latest nail-crazed celeb to be tapped for a collaboration with OPI! :)

Here Mariah's wearing a bronze metallic polish. Could this be a clue? ;)

Carey will launch two collections with OPI. The first will be appearing in January 2013 with eight shades and the second later that year. Both will be limited editions.

OPI says: “We are thrilled to work with Mariah, an industry icon who loves nails and considers nail polish one of her favourite accessories."

But here she is with a dark polish...

The Grammy-winning singer is perfect for the job, as “nails are part of her personality" according to OPI's artistic director.

...and here she wears a nude polish. Now I'm confused ;)

There’s no word yet on the colour range, but it's said that Carey likes nude, metallic and pastel hues, so maybe we can imagine what the first collection might look like. Mariah says: “I actually went to beauty school in 11th grade so I could have something to fall back on, so believe me, I’ve done my share of manicures as well as getting them. OPI knows that the polish you use makes a big difference not only in the look, but in the care of your nails and that’s why I believe in the brand.”

But then again OPI says: “With her magnetic personality both on and off the stage, Mariah serves as a great inspiration for beautiful, bold colors.”

Are you curious of this collection?
What colours do you think Mariah will present?
And what type of polish? Glitter? Foil? Holo? Metallic?

I hope it's holo ;) Like the first OPI DS polishes which were packed with holo!! :-P

PS. Last month, Selena Gomez wrote on Twitter that she is planning on collaborating with Nicole by OPI :)
