Barry M Shocking Pink - swatches and review

This is a beautiful pink polish, but oh so hard to capture! ;) The camera wanted to capture it more red than what it is, but below pictures are quite accurate.
The name "Shocking Pink" makes me think of neon, but this is a bright mid pink. Not shocking, but very pretty! :)

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT SHOCKING PINK:

Type of polish: Cream.

Colour: A bright medium pink.

Opacity: Very good! This is two coats. If you also wear a top coat you can actually get away with one coat! :D

Drying time: Normal.

Formula: Very good! Nice texture and easy to apply.

Brush: Very good! The brush is quite thin (and as most of you know I'm a big fan of thick brushes ;)) but this one was actually very easy and nice to work with! :D

Shine: Shiny on its own, so I have no top coat in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: It's a little bit more cold pink IRL. These picures show it a tiny bit to red. But the first two pictures are fairly accurate actually! :)

Grade: 4/5 :)

This is a pretty medium pink polish with excellent qualities! Maybe not superunique, but still very beautiful! Great price too! (£3 or $4.50 or SEK 30)

What do you think of the name "Shocking Pink" for this polish?
What would you call it?

  2. Snygg rosa!

  4. Hi cutie, Shocking Pink? Eternal reference to Elsa Schiaparelli for me for whom I feel utter admiration!!! So here wie have it - I love it, and I love those saturated, vivid and bold pinks. They are happy and joyful. And it suits you soooooo well, take care my dear xxx

  5. Oh, Jezzica, lovely shade! I would have said Shocking Pink was ... well not a name I'd use. But then I googled Shocking pink and found this very same colour and an incredible story I never heard of before.
I now notice Christine has already mention Shocking pink is actually the name for THIS shade!
So, I guess the name is so very suitable to the shade!

    1. Yes, isn't it great Nati!!! :D And as both you and Christine have pointed out, the name makes perfect sense now! This was apparently Elsa Schiaparelli's signature colour! She used it in a lot of her clothes and as wrapping paper too :) I'm a bit surprised though that Barry M has noticed this... The same Barry M that has two different polishes with the same name ;) (Blueberry) LOL!
      Bacioni!

  7. Nice shade! :-) I don't think I'd wear it alone, it is beautiful but it's not one of my favourite colours, but I would gladly use it for some nail art! :-) It doesn't look so shocking to me, I've seen many really shocking shades of pink.. :-)

And after reading Nati's and Christine's comments the name does make sense now! But before I felt like you! ;)
