Sephora Tie Dye - swatches and review

Many of you were curious of the new Tie Dye from Sephora when I showed you my Sephora haul. I was very curious too so I just had to try it!

The formula is thin like water so you need to be careful not to get it in your cuticles but it's not hard to avoid it either. Just don't take too much on the brush, which by the way is wide and nice :)

It's hard to describe the color of this top coat, it looks like a tiny drop of blue ink in water. It doesn't make the polish blue though, only one shade darker for each coat. The change is very subtle and there is no major change after one coat which is good because then you can safely add more coats to achieve the result you want.

I tried the Tie Dye over Orly Pretty-Ugly as follows:
Index finger - No Tie Dye at all
Middle finger - One coat
Ring finger - Two coats
Pinkie - Three coats

In the end it turned out to a blue skittle! And as you can see the Tie Dye doesn't cover the shimmer but let's it shine through.

I tried a gradient with it too :)

How do you like Tie Dye?
Any ideas on how to use it more?

  9. Hi pet, amazing sauce!!!! What a beautiful ombre mani!!!! I love such subtle effect toppers!!! I think you can use it over any relative of blue like lilac. I wonder what it would look over grey. Or as gradient with some sparse hologlitter finish. The options are many with this one!!! I wish you a great start into Thursday (yeah I am that late) - viele Küsschen xxx

    1. Hi doll! Sause is the exact right word for it! It's like water! But controllable water! lol! I actually tried it over the wonderful Misa you gave me but that one was too dark. There was no greater difference. But over a paler grey - yummy!! :D Good idea about the glitter!! Could be awesome!! Viele Küsschen!! xxx
