Jindie Nails Silent Night - swatches and review

Sorry if it's been a bit quiet here for a few days. As a florist this time of the year with advent and Christmas is craaaaaaazy busy! Fun, but I work a lot...

Anyhow, for this Friday I've got a true gem for you. It's been hiding in my stash for over a year and I can't believe I haven't tried it because it's so stunning that I get tears in my eyes :)

The formula is awful, thick and gluey but I don't give a ----! The deep blue jelly base filled with prismatic stars, moons and other glitters topped with a purple shimmer make me forgive that formula without a doubt :) I just smile while looking at my nails.

The name is very suiting considering Christmas is around the corner and it really reminds of a clear starry winter sky.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Glitter.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Awful. Thick and gluey. Maybe better if you make it thinner and do more coats instead. Glitter fishing was needed to get the stars and the moons were very tricky to get even with major glitter fishing.

Brush: Good. No complaints.

Top Coat: Yes, two coats of Seche Vite. Still a bit bumpy but ok for me.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate, but live you can see much more depth and glitter!

Grade: 5-/5

This polish is so stunning it hurts my eyes ;) Yes, the formula is awful but it's so worth it in the end! I wore this for days and I loved every minute of it! The minus is obviously for the bad formula ;)

Interlocking Black and White Dots

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday is "Black and White" and I've got a black and white dotticure for you :)

Ever since I tried the interlocking dots manicure I've been wanting to do it in black and white so this was the perfect opportunity to do it. I'm not happy with the result though. I could have done it better but you get an idea on how it could look. I did it rather fast after a loooong working day and after a loooong 60 hours working week so maybe I should be nicer to myself ;)

The white is Barry M Matte White and the black is Illamasqua Scorn. The white is the base and then I did a diagonal striping tape mani and then I just to dotted away ;)

Mad Glamour Glitter Gradient

For this Holo Friday I've actually got a holo nail art for you :) Ok, most pictures are taken in the shadow to show off the gradient better but it IS a holo base ;)

The base is the iconic OPI DS Glamour and the glitter is the almost equally iconic OPI Mad as a Hatter. I'm so glad and fortunate to own both of these polishes! :D

I like the combination of these two polishes and I think the gradient turned our pretty good.

Cameo Nails

I think we need a little nail art here at LMNP! :) This is a nail art I did a while ago and it turned out fairly good. It's a bit crocked but I like the overall look. Cameos remind me of my beloved grandma who I miss every day.

The base is a textured glitter polish from Swedish Kicks and called Black Diamond. Then I've stamped the cameo pattern with Depend's white stamping polish #6700 and MoYou plate Pro Collection-07.

Essence We Rock the Green - swatches and review

For this Green Wednesday I've got an excellent Essence polish for you! It's a beautiful shimmer called We Rock the Green.

Essence is not available here in Sweden so this polish was sent to me by a great Swiss friend :)

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Shimmer.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Excellent! No complaints at all!

Brush: Excellent! Super wide and rounded at the top. Just how I like it!

Top Coat: Yes, one coat.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate.

Grade: 5/5

This grass green polish is packed with shimmer in green, pink, light blue and gold. It's so beautiful and the formula and brush is superb! Love it!

Essie The Lace is On - swatches and review

This polish is from Essie's Fall collection 2013 "For The Twill of It". It's a foil magenta and it's the odd one out in this otherwise murky collection. To me this is more summer than fall.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Foil.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Good. A bit runny but ok. The first coat was very streaky but the second coat covered all that up.

Brush: Good. Thin but ok.

Top Coat: No.

Color accuracy in pictures: Quite accurate but more pure magenta looking live. Hard to capture.

Grade: 2/5

This was not my cup of tea at all. The color is pretty and vibrant but it made my skin look red.

Art Deco Leopard Nails

For this Nail Art Sunday I've done an art deco inspired leopard manicure. I didn't actually realize it was art deco until my dear friend Christine told me it looked art deco. Thanks pet! You always find the perfect descriptions for my weird nail arts! :)

The base is the beautiful Choco Mousse from By K. Then I've stamped the leopard pattern with Konad plate m57 and Essence Glamour girls. Finally I did some dots with By K's Jet Stream.

I was very happy with the result. I love art deco and the joints between the two stamping parts on each nail are almost invisible.

Comparison Cirque Bejeweled and OPI DS Glamour

When I applied the beautiful Cirque Bejeweled I started thinking about how similar it would to OPI's epic DS Glamour. Said and done, here is the comparison of the two of them. Just in time for Holo Friday! ;)

This is two coats of each. No top coat.

Cirque Bejeweled on middle finger and pinkie.
OPI DS Glamour on pointer finger and ring finger.

Bejeweld to the left.
Glamour to the right.

I think the pictures say it all really. You can see both the similarities and the differences. They are both blue holos but they are so different that they both deserve a place in my (or anyone's) collection! :) They are stunningly beautiful!

By K Matilde vs Las Vegas - swatches and review

Let's look at another By K polish! This is a clear based glitter polish with flakes in different colors. I'm not a huge fan of clear based glitter polishes. Probably because I find them both hard to match with base polishes and hard to remove.

However, this polish wasn't hard to remove and I got very satisfied with the match with the base polish. Here is Matilde vs Las Vegas over the amazing Cirque Tibetan Nights.

By K's polishes are vegan, cruelty free and 5-free.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Glitter.

Number of coats: One.

Formula: Excellent! The flakes spread easily and there was absolutely no need for glitter fishing.

Brush: Very good! A bit thin but then again I like my brushes very wiiiiiiiiiide :)

Top Coat: Yes. After one coat of Seche Vite it was actually quite smooth but not super smooth. It also dried a bit matte so a top coat is really needed.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate. Very glittery live!

Grade: 5/5

This polish was surprisingly pretty on the nails! Much more pretty than in the bottle. As I said above I'm not that much into clear based glitters but I love this combination! I'm amazed! I will definitely wear this combo again.

By K Choco Mousse - swatches and review

This week By K release their Christmas collection of three beautiful polishes. Check them out here! Vegan, cruelty free and 5-free!

Let's celebrate this by looking at By K's gingerbread brown polish Choco Mousse ;) Yes, you can also call it chocolate brown :)

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Number of coats: One!

Formula: Excellent! Very easy to apply and self leveling.

Brush: Very good. Perhaps a tiny bit thin for my likening.

Top Coat: No. It's very shiny on its own.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate.

Grade: 4/5

I'm not that into brown polishes but I like this one! Probably because it's so dark :) I like dark polishes. This will be perfect for gingerbread manicures for Christmas and it's another one coater from By K!
