Autumn dotticure

On top of By K Pull Up I did a autumn inspired dotticure using only By K polishes :)

I used the following polishes: By K OY-MAK (bright red), By K The Sky is the Limit (dark red) By K Jump and Slide (brown red) and By K Bravo-Yankie-Kilo (gold).

I'm really pleased with the result! I like the colors and the diagonal rainbow feeling to it. A perfect autumn manicure :)

By K Pull Up - swatches and review

It's time for the last polish from By K's summer collection! This is Pull Up, a grayish mauve with a fantastic formula! It was so easy to apply that I could have done it whilst sleeping! ;)

This is two coats but one coat is definitely possible if you do a little bit of a thicker coat. The formula has the most perfect thickness/thinness and it's very very self leveling! Just perfect and the best formula of the whole collection. It reminds me of the early By K creams. They had perfect formulas too and most of them were one coaters.

The color of Pull Up shifts a bit depending on light so today I'll show you two pictures :)
As always with By K's polishes they are 5-free, vegan, cruelty free and allergy certified.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Number of coats: Two, but there is definitely a one coater possibility!

Formula: Excellent! Very self leveling!

Brush: Thin straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 4+++/5

The only reason Pull Up doesn't get a full mark from me is that I'm not a mauve lover. I like grey but this has a bit too much purple in it for my taste. However, it's a beauty and as I've said now like hundred times, the formula is to die for! ;) A perfect autumn polish. I did a fantastic nail art on it which I'll show you soon. :)

Floral nails

Even though gorgeous By K Jump and Slide looks totally stunning on its own I wanted to add some nail art to it. Being a florist I couldn't resist to stamp on some flowers :)

The plate used is MoYou London Princess plate 14 and the pink metallic polish is Kiko #620. To cheer it up even more I added a pink dot in each flower with By K Camelia Rose.

I really like the result! The pattern doesn't hide the beautiful base and I like the childish look of it :)

By K Jump and Slide - swatches and review

Wow! I'm in love with this squishy dark red jelly! It's so beautiful and shiny! This is Jump and Slide from By K.

Since it's a jelly it will never be truly opaque but I don't mind. Because in return I get an incredible shine and squishiness! It's so vampy and elegant! Classic beauty at it's best!

This is three coats and the formula was great! It's also vegan, 5-free, certified cruelty free and allergy certified.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Jelly.

Number of coats: Three.

Formula: Very good! No complaints at all!

Brush: Thin straight cut brush.

Top Coat: Yes, but just as shiny without.

Grade: 5+/5

This vampy red jelly will look good on both longer and shorter nails. It's released as an autumn polish but this classic color can be used all around if you ask me. A winner in my book!

Sea horse manicure

After enjoying By K's Turbulence for a few days I added a duo coloured stamping to it in form of cute little sea horses and sea grass.

Polishes used are Turquoise and Neon Blue, both from Mundo de Unas. The pattern is from MoYou London plate Sailor-05.

I wanted to match the turquoise shimmer with a marine pattern. I'm fairly happy with. Perhaps I should have chosen only one color for the stamping though.
Less is, after all, more :)

By K Turbulence - swatches and review

I love grey polishes and this one is no exception! This is Turbulence and it has an extra dimension to it, a turquoise shimmer which actually follows out on the nails! Beautiful!

This is two coats and the application was flawless as often with By K's polishes. I will use this polish often!

As always with By K's polishes, Turbulence is vegan, cruelty free, 5-free and allergy certified. Yay!

This is one of three polishes released by danish By K as a mini autumn collection. I will show you the other two soon!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Shimmer.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Excellent! So easy to apply!

Brush: Thin straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 5/5

A perfect grey with a shimmer twist! Lovely on its own and a great base for nail art!

Glowing Web Nails

I really struggled to come up with a suiting name for this manicure so I did what I usually do when I suffer from lack of imagination - I asked my boyfriend what first came to his mind when he saw my manicure :) With this manicure he said: Spiderman! First I thought he was crazy but then I saw what he saw and tadaaa! the manicure was named ;)

The base is By K Go Around and then I stamped on a black pattern with Misa I Will Survive using MoYou London plate Sailor Collection-07. I used By K Bravo-Yankie-Kilo to do some gold dots.

I'm very happy with this manicure! It looks warm and luxurious. Perfect for late summer parties and laid back days on the beach! :)

By K Go Around - swatches and review

Orange isn't really my color, but this beauty is not your ordinary orange polish. It has a golden glow to it and it's more of a burned amber color when you look at it more closely. It's really stunning live and particularly in the sun!

Depending on the lighting it shifts from dark coral, via amber to dark red. Very subtle shifts due to the shimmer because it's not a multi chrome or a duo chrome. It shows no shifts under water, which a multi or duo chrome polish does.

The formula is flawless! I did two coats but one is enough if you do a thicker coat. Also cruelty free, vegan, 5-free and allergy certified!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Shimmer.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Excellent! No running, no bald spots! Just perfect!

Brush: Medium straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 5/5

This polish is totally unique in my collection! Even my boyfriend stopped and looked at it while I was painting my nails, which he never does! He thought it was pretty and he never says anything nowadays after seeing hundreds of polishes ;) I guess you can't get a better grade than that! :)

Sea Weed nails

I didn't really know what to call this manicure but after a moment of serious consideration I thought they reminded me of sea weed slowly and softly rocking underneath the surface of a warm summer sea :)

The base is Broken at 100 from By K and the stamping plate used is MoYou London Sailor Collection-07. I've done a duo color stamping with two Mundo de Unas polishes, Neon Blue and Dark Green. I applied the stamping polishes diagonally in stripes on the plate before scraping and stamping.

I love the result! I think this is the most beautiful duo color stamping I've ever done! So pleased I purr like a cat looking at it! ;) Hope you like it to!

By K Broken at 100 - swatches and review

It's Blue Monday and it's been ages since I showed you a blue polish on a Monday! But today I will!

This is the very pretty Broken at 100 from By K. A pearly medium blue leaning slightly towards turquoise with a nice glow to it. Very good formula! This is two coats but it's a possible one-coater if you do a thicker coat. Since it's pearly you just have to be a little bit careful with the brush strokes.

Do I still need to mention that this and all By K's polishes are certified cruelty free, vegan, 5-free and allergy certified…? They are! :D

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Pearl.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Very good! You're in total control all the time!

Brush: Medium straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 4/5

I'm a blue polish lover so I really like this polish! And the fact that it leans towards turquoise makes it even better! I adore turquoise! To me this polish screams summer and seaside :) That was also my inspiration for the nail art I applied to it. Wait and see ;)

By K Bravo-Yankie-Kilo swatches and review

By K's Bravo-Yankie-Kilo was the first polish I tried from the second part of By K's new collection. This is to be released at the end of May together with two other fantastic polishes.

Bravo-Yankie-Kilo is a pale gold foil polish. I like that it's not too much of a yellow gold. The application was a breeze! Excellent formula and you're in total control all the time! I didn't need any clean-up at all! :D

If you wonder about the name Bravo-Yankie-Kilo, it's flight language and it means By K :)

And as always with By K's polishes, this polish is vegan, certified cruelty free, 5-free and allergy certified. Great!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Foil.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Excellent! So easy to control!

Brush: Medium straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 4/5

A great gold polish which isn't too yellow. I bet it will look perfect with a tan to all summer parties and it's a perfect base for golden nail art, like the one I showed you yesterday :)

Golden Art Deco Nail Art

Art deco is one of my favorite art and design eras and the other day I did a manicure inspired by it.

The base is By K Bravo-Yankie-Kilo which means By K in flight language :) Then I used Misa I Will Survive to stamp a black art deco pattern on top of the gold base. Plate used is MoYou London Sailor Collection-05. I wanted a third brighter color so I did some dots with Mundo de Unas White polish.

I'm very happy with the result! It definitely feels art deco! :)

A review of the, soon to be released, golden By K polish will be published soon so stay tuned :)

White Lace on Pink nails

I rarely wear a polish without any nail art on it so I did this cute lace nail art on top of By K Happy Landings. A stamped lace pattern in white and then I dotted on tiny dots in gold.

The lace pattern is from a MoYou London plate in their Gothic Collection and I used Mundo des Unas White polish to print it. The dots are made with Essie Good As Gold.

By K Happy Landings has such a great glow to it and I didn't want to hide it too much so chose a sparse lace pattern. Quite happy with this manicure actually :)

By K Happy Landings - swatches and review

This is the third polish from the brand new spring collection from By K. A soft pearly vintage pink with the positive name of Happy Landings :) All polishes in By K's spring/summer collection has flight related names. Fun! :D

Great formula on this one! Beware of brushstrokes though. Only two coats so good opacity!
And as always with By K's polishes it's certified cruelty free, vegan, allergy certified and 5-free. Good for you and good for the animals! :)

I did such a cute nail art with this one as a base. I'll show you soon :)

GOOD TO KNOW:

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Very good for a pearl polish! Easy to control and opaque. Beware of brush strokes.

Brush: Medium straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 3/5

Pink isn't really my color but if you are a pink lover I'm sure you'll love it! It has a nice glow to it and I like the vintage feel of it!

Psychedelic Leaves Nail Art

I'm so happy with this nail art! The color contrasts are amazing! The bright orange red OY-MAK from By K and the neon cobalt blue from Mundo de Unas. A match made in heaven if you ask me ;)

A stampicure with a leaf pattern from MoYou London Tropical Collection-10. I call them psychedelic leaves because it's a flirt with the crazy patterns and colors from the 70's. :)

By K OY-MAK - swatches and review

Time for color! Real in-your-face-red brought to you by By K! This is OY-MAK. Quite a strange name but the whole collection has got to do with flights and flying and air plans. OY-MAK is a kind of number plate and OY means Danish and MAK is the code for a specific person.

I adore this shade! It's so bright without being a neon! Great formula too! This is two coats. Cream is what By K does best! Always flawless and spot-on-colors! And as always 5-free, vegan and certified cruelty free and now also allergy certified! This polish will be released in the beginning of May.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Number of coats: Two totally effortless coats.

Formula: Excellent! Perfection! It just glides on to the nails!

Brush: Medium straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 5+/5

This amazing cream will be used again and again! I love it!

Vintage Peacock Nails

I just couldn't wait to show you what I did to yesterdays polish, By K Freezing Fog! I stamped a graphic peacock pattern in gold on it and finish it off with a light pink stone to each nail.

The base is, as said, By K Freezing Fog and the peacock pattern is from MoYou London plate Tropical Collection-05. The gold polish used is Good As Gold from Essie.

I can't tell you how pleased I am with this manicure! It feels so vintage and I can so imagine it to a vintage bride! It's tone-in-tone but you can still see the pattern clearly and it has a sort of ivory feeling to it. Soft and romantic!

For this kind of nail art By K's Freezing Fog is the perfect soft base!

By K Freezing Fog - swatches and review

Hi friends! I'm back! Have you missed me? ;) My plan is to do a few posts a month - if I feel like it ;)

I'm starting with a new polish from By K which will be released in the beginning of May. The whole upcoming collection by By K has a flight theme and this one is called Freezing Fog. This polish is flirting with the 70's with its pearl finish and I liked it more than I first thought.

Surprisingly opaque. Two coats is enough but since I'm quite fussy I added a third. Still good compared to other pearl polishes!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Pearl.

Number of coats: Three.

Formula: Good! A bit runny so watch out for cuticle flooding. Very easy to clean up though!

Brush: Medium straight cut.

Top Coat: Yes.

Grade: 3+/5

Pearl finish isn't really my thing but if you like the upcoming 70's style this is the polish for you! I can also imaging this polish on a bride for a wedding. AND it's a perfect canvas for nail art. Just wait and see what I did to this polish…! ;)
