Skulls Nails - swatches

Happy Halloween everybody!
Today is the last day of the Halloween challenge I'm doing and it's a free theme and I have saved the best for last for you :) I'm very happy how these came out! I love the red glittering eyes in the shiny silver metallic skulls!

The base is Essie Cashmere Bathrobe and the skulls are stamped with Depend #223 and Bundle Monster plate BM-211. The eyes are made with a dotting tool and Isadora Love Crush.

Skulls are perfect for Halloween but I could definitely do these again for any time of the year! They are cool and they rock! ;)

I'm celebrating Halloween by working my --- off until late in this evening. However, I'm hoping to see some cool Halloween manicures when I get home tonight :)

Blood Splatter Nails

It's time for the "Recreate someone else's challenge" in the Halloween Challenge I'm doing this month.

I got inspired by Look What the Bats Dragged In's manicure she did for the "Horror Movies" challenge. On some of her nails she had a blood splatter base and I've always wanted to try that! Said and done, now I've tried it and it was so fun!! Yes, there is some cleaning up to do, but if you're thorough when you tape your nails for protection it's not that bad actually.

I love that the pattern, created as you blow in a straw with polish in it, is totally unpredictable! It can turn out like anything! However, I found that a hard short blow created the most beautiful patterns.

The base in my manicure is "Jet Stream" from a Danish brand called By K. Totally vegan, cruelty free and also 5-free! A review of this polish will come shortly! The red is China Glaze "Winter Berry". A very blood look-a-like polish ;)

I'm very pleased with my first splatter manicure! I'll definitely try it again!

Jason Voorhees Goes Glam Nails

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday is "Halloween". I've been doing Halloween nails all October because I've joined a Halloween Challenge so frankly I was running out of ideas ;) See all my Halloween nails here.

Then I remembered that I've always wanted to do the mask that Jason Voorhees wears in the Friday 13th movies. But as always I must always do things my way ;) so I decided that Jason would go glam! Lol! So here he is in his most glittering mask ever! :)

The base is the beautiful textured glitter polish "Lady" from Barry M. Then I've just done dots in various sizes with dotting tools and Illamasqua Boosh.

My inspiration :)

Graveyard Nail Art

As perhaps most of you know by now, I'm doing a Halloween Challenge this month. The theme for today is "Graveyard".

I decided to do a sort of romantic, non-scary graveyard scene :)

The base is the beautiful Gray by Gray from Sally Hansen. The church is made with Bundle Monster plate BM-224 and Illamasqua Boosh. I've also used the black Barry M Nail Art Pen to do the crosses and same pen but in silver to do the stars.

I feel that the starry sky did the trick with this nail art so I'm quite pleased with the result actually :)

Bats Nails

The theme for today's Halloween Challenge is "Bats" and I've been quite literal and done bats flying in the moonlight.

I managed to squeeze in no less then three different techniques in this nail art - sponging, stamping and freehand :)

The base is the wonderful Catrice Denim Moore, sent to my by the lovely Christine at Polished Marvels. Then I freehanded a little white moon using Barry M's Nail Art Pen. After that I sponged on some mystic clouds using Orly Dazzle and a makeup sponge. Finally I stamped on the black bats using Bundle Monster plate BM-213 and Illamasqua Boosh.

I was so happy with the result that it's actually my notd :) I love that base color and I love the mood created by the soft silver clouds and the brightly shiny moon. Mystic and beautiful :)

Breast Cancer Awareness Nail Art

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday is "The Pink Ribbon" which is a symbol for breast cancer awareness. Many bloggers have been showing pink polishes and pink nail arts all week, but I've been really poorly and stuck in bed all week :/

Today I'm extra happy to join because our host Le Lack is giving 20 SEK for every pink ribbon nail art blog post that is joining today's Nail Art Sunday. Very generous! So come on and join today for a good cause!

When I asked my boyfriend what he thought this nail art was supposed to look like, his whole face lit up and he said: Boobies!! Lol! :D That's boys for you! ;)
However, this was my aim so he was right! On the thumb I got very literal and did a pink ribbon :)

The base polish is Nubar Honeysuckle, a pink favourite of mine! The boobies are made with Nordic Cap NP14 and Face #133, both Swedish brands.

Alien Nail Art

Today's theme in the Halloween Challenge I'm doing is "Favorite Horror Monster".

I've always been fascinated by the Alien movies. I saw the first one when I was about twelve and I was so scared I had to watch the end with no sound! Lol!

Anyway, I decided to make a down sized version of the alien herself. Only her tail actually :) I did dots in decreasing sizes to simulate that spine lookalike tail ending with a knife looking end. To get that metallic feel to it I added some silver dots.

I quite like the outcome of this nail art. You can see the shapes of swinging tails but you can also just see nice geometrical shapes.

The red base is OPI You Only Live Twice. The tails are made with Illamasqua Boosh, Barry M Nail Art Pen in black and Max Factor Silver Effect Polish.

My inspiration :)

Bassetts Liquorice Allsorts Candy Nails

Today's theme for the Halloween Challenge I'm doing is "Trick or Treat". I decided to go for treat and did these candy inspired nails.

In the candy mix called Bassets Liquorice Allsorts there are yellow and pink wheels. The outside tastes of coconut and the middle is a sweet liquorice filling. I love eating only the yellow and pink pieces and give the black middle to my boyfriend ;) Lol!

Anyway, the base is a fantastic purple-grey polish from Rimmel called Punk Rock and the wheels are made with dotting tools. The yellow is China Glaze Happy Go Lucky and the pink is Zoya Lo. The black is Illamasqua Boosh.

My inspiration :)

Skittlette

The task for today's Nail Art Sunday is to do a skittlette! A very fun theme which you can keep on a very easy level or do just how advanced you like. I chose to keep it very easy but I tried to convince myself that less is more ;)

I decided to chose one polish as starting point and chose the others after that one. So I chose Nails Inc Sugar House Lane (middle finger) and chose the others to match that one. I ended up with OPI Solitaire on pointer finger, Illamasqua Scorn on ring finger and Barry M Vanilla on thumb and pinkie.

And finally a huge thank you for all your birthday wishes yesterday! They really warmed my heart!

"The Birds" Nail Art

Today it's my birthday and this is the weirdest birthday manicure I've ever worn!! Lol! However, today is also the fourth day of the Halloween Challenge I'm doing this month and hence this manicure. The theme for today is "Horror Movies".

This might seem odd for some of you, but I like Alfred Hitchcock's films. There are no splatter or special effects but they are still scary as h--- from time to time! :O

Anyway, one of my favorite Hitchcock movies is "The Birds". I remember I was scared of birds for weeks after seen this film! Lol! :D And did you know there is no music at all in this film? Not a single tone! He was a pure genius that Mr Alfred Hitchcock! As per usual you can always spot him in his own films and in "The Birds" the film starts with him coming out of a pet shop specializing in, of course, birds :)

The base of this manicure is Darling Diva "When Doves Cry". I thought this cool grey was the perfect base since the color palette of this movie is pale grey/blue AND a dove is after all a type of bird ;) Lol!

The pattern is stamped with Illamasqua Boosh and MoYou plate Pro Collection-07. Please note the final touch of the evil red eyes ;) made with a tiny dotting tool and Isadora Love Crush.
